Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) today announced that Alexander Classen has joined its Private Wealth Management division ("PWM") as Head of Sales for its High Net Worth business in Europe and the Middle East region.
Reporting to Michael Durbin, Head of Morgan Stanley's International PWM business, Classen will oversee all aspects of the sales management, business development and client relationship activities for the high net worth businesses in the region. In his new role, he will be based in London.
"Alexander's appointment is a significant step in the continuing development of our international high net worth business", said Michael Durbin. "His considerable expertise and proven track record in growing high net worth business will be a considerable asset for Morgan Stanley."
Classen joins from Goldman Sachs, where he was most recently the General Manager of its Swiss Bank operations in Zurich and Geneva. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2000, he spent 10 years at Pictet, latterly as the Head of their Asian operations in Singapore.
