LONDON, July 2, 2010 – Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management announced today it will hold the Firm’s fourth annual “Next Generation” programme for 26 of its clients’ children. The programme aims to develop and enhance participants’ knowledge of finance and wealth management through a week-long series of meetings, presentations, interactive sessions and social events.
“The current issues in the Eurozone and general market volatility is a clear reminder to many clients of the importance of having a good understanding of financial markets and asset management” commented Alexander Classen, Head of PWM EMEA. “This programme is designed to provide exactly that in an interesting and informative format, while allowing participants to meet and network with like-minded people.”
Ausaf Abbas, Head of Sales & Marketing for Morgan Stanley PWM EMEA added, “One of our core principles is to provide clients with the solutions that will ensure long-term financial growth and stability. This programme develops this philosophy by handing skills and ideas to our client’s children, helping to ensure their wealth is well protected in the future.”
The participants, all aged 18 to 25, will meet with senior Morgan Stanley bankers from across the Firm including investment banking, capital markets, sales & trading, asset management and commodities. They will also spend time shadowing PWM Investment Advisers learning about different asset classes and their characteristics, seeing the practical implementation of different investment strategies.
In addition to the meetings and presentations, participants will also engage in discussion groups, play Morgan Stanley’s proprietary investment game “Portfolio in Peril” and take part in various offsite activities including a guided tour of the Bloomberg offices and studio.
Commenting on last year’s programme, one former attendee said “It was a very enjoyable week which helped me to significantly improve my understanding of the financial services industry. I also met a number of new friends who I am in regular contact with today.”
