Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Releases its 2011/2012 “Gifts for Good” Philanthropic Catalog

Dec 2, 2011

New York —

Showcasing meaningful gift and funding opportunities to benefit others

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney is pleased to announce the release of the third edition of its annual Gifts for Good Catalog. The Catalog highlights 20 nonprofit organizations and their meaningful gifts and funding opportunities.  These nonprofits are both geographically and mission diverse, are solving problems in unique ways, and are working to make their local communities, the nation and the world a better place.

Examples of two meaningful funding opportunities include a donation of $200 to the HALO Trust that will help save lives by funding the clearance and destruction of a landmine; and a donation of $100 to Helen Keller International that will give life-saving vitamin A supplements to 100 children in a village in Tanzania for one year.

According to Doug Ketterer, Head of U.S. Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, "By examining their missions from new angles and identifying innovative ways of achieving results, the organizations featured here have differentiated themselves from other nonprofits and have become best-in-class leaders in their charitable areas."

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney clients appreciate being introduced to such high caliber nonprofits.  "Our clients want to maximize the impact of their giving and they turn to us for innovative ideas and opportunities," said Melanie Schnoll Begun, Managing Director of Philanthropic Services, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.  "Clients expect significant results from their giving and our Gifts for Good Catalog is one of many resources we offer that meets this need.”
