Charles A. Smith is the Chief Risk Officer of Morgan Stanley. He previously served in various other management roles, including Head of Business Development of the Institutional Securities Group (ISG); Chief Financial Officer of ISG; President of Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. and Morgan Stanley Private Bank, N.A.; and Head of Firm Strategy and Execution. He formerly served as a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department.
Mr. Smith received a BBA from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on the Board of Directors for The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), one of the country's largest community development organizations.
